Fishing in Ladakh

Fishing in Arunachal PradeshThe incredible Ladhak and its nearby areas offer wonderful opportunity for fishing. The advent of Spring and Summer completely change the persona of Ladhak making it an angler's paradise. If you are inclined towards fishing, then reservation for 'beats' should be done before stepping into this land. This reservation is done at the Indian Government Tourist Office or the Tourist Reception Centre in Srinagar. There are 61 beats available for reservation during the season. They range from the voilent Sindh and Wangat Rivers to the peaceful Krishanshar, Vishanshar, Gangabal and Nunkol.

The hot spots for angling in Kashmir are the Sindh and Liddar, melting from May-July resulting in a pool under boulders. Spinning is not a problem here but the wet fly and weighted cast test the capability and expertise of the angler. The most appropriate time for fishing in these rivers is during the months of April, August and September. This is the time when these rivers become quiet. Grabbing this opportunity, the anglers come here for fishing and are greatly rewarded. If you are skilled enough in angling, then you might catch the big fishes which are generally found in stiller waters.
